THERMOMIX ADVISOR

THERMOMIX:

I have considered getting a Thermomix for years and years, after seeing them on posh TV cookery shows and in Michelin star restaurants. It wasn’t until I took the plunge and went to a demo of the TM6 that I realised just how amazing they are! Not just for people like me who cook for a living, but for those who are time-poor but want great food easily, or people who want quick, healthy meals without having to think much. It’s like having a sous chef in the kitchen with you.

After having a TM6 for a short while, it revolutionised how I cook and I wished I had taken the plunge much sooner.  I then got wind that the new TM7 was coming out! Thermomix has been around for over 60 years, and they only release a new version every 6-10 years, so I decided to hand back my TM6 and am eagerly awaiting delivery of the new TM7 model. It’s super sleek, much safer and quieter as it now has an insulated bowl, has a lot more user-friendly tech and a larger 10” touchscreen that even works with wet/dirty hands. Once you have a Thermomix, you wonder how you managed without one before.

Thermomix is more than just an incredibly powerful blender. It can cook and heat simultaneously while stirring or blending, steam your fish or vegetables at the same time, it can grind spices in seconds, create amazingly smooth purees in moments, knead bread and make pastry and doughs effortlessly, cook caramels and honeycomb, make fresh healthy sorbets or soups in minutes, slow cook, sous vide, chop, weigh…….the list goes on and on. Oh, and all parts are totally dishwasher safe, for quick and easy cleaning.

What really took me by surprise was the associated app/recipe store. Using the built-in touch screen, it literally gives you step-by-step instructions with 80,000+ recipes to choose from. They save so much time, money and dishes, as each ingredient can be added to the one bowl, which has scales built in, to avoid extra washing up. Plus, while it’s doing its thing, you can walk away and crack on with something else. Making a risotto? Let the Thermomix do all that weighing, heating and stirring for you while you throw together a dessert, or just put your feet up in front of the TV safe in the knowledge that your risotto will be cooked to perfection without having to watch it.

There’s no denying that they are an investment for sure (£1350 inc VAT). However, they do become economical in many ways, and there are payment plans available if you don’t want to pay up front. If you consider all of the other gadgets and appliances you would need to cover all of what Thermomix does, it’s actually a decent price and comes with a great warranty, ongoing support from me and my Thermomix team, and a renowned reputation - they are high tech and built to last. In fact, I read an interview recently with BakeOff’s Prue Leith in which she was asked about her best kitchen gadget:

‘’My 40-year-old Thermomix. It chops, grates, cooks, and even grinds bones! It’s a beast, and I couldn’t live without it. They offered me the latest model, but I’m sticking with my trusty original.’’

If you are interested in seeing one in action, or if you know someone who is thinking of buying one, then get in touch. We can arrange a demo either online or in person at your home or mine, to show you how it could revolutionise your cooking. Just drop me a message to arrange:

They’re not just great for home cooks, but a staple in many high-end/Michelin restaurants as well as small kitchens such as care homes and cafe’s, as they are so simple and straight-forward to use, that anyone can whip up all sorts of bakes, cakes, soups and more with little kitchen knowledge or training, thanks to the built in touch screen recipe app. Don’t forget, if buying for a business, you can claim back the VAT!
